Biography

“Ephemeral thoughts are sustained discourses in disguise. And vice versa.”
Social media addict, avid writer, women’s lifestyle essayist, deep thinker, lover of all things creative, taboo breaker, complete and utter introvert… Give me a microphone, place me on a stage in front of thousands of people and I will faint; but give me computer, an internet connection, a handful of loyal readers and I will shine. I see. I react. I write, then I share. The aim of this blog is to express my views on different topics that affect modern society – the media, male/female interactions, relationships, racism, parenting, religion etc. I am also a HIV/AIDS activist at heart so I write about issues that are related to the fight against the disease in the hope that it can help eliminate the stigma that surrounds it.
“…And there was light, love and sleepless nights.”
I was born and raised in Belgium, but I am originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo. I arrived in London in 2000, studied and gratuated in Media studies and Mass communication in 2007. I worked in the media for a while, did anything from editorial, advertising & marketing to events, PR, promotions and also a little tiny bit of modelling. I then got married and had two little boys. While I was a stay-at-home-mum, I realised I was more career-driven than I thought, so I started working from home as a freelance translator French/English on a self-employed basis. I also began to write; I am currently working on my first novel, which is a fictional story based around the theme of this post. I am also an aspiring screenwriter, I have written the script of my first short film, which I am hoping to direct and produce in the next few years, as well as a webseries which will be shot in the summer of 2012. I love God and have a passion for life in general, which is what I blog about. My husband, children and passions are my life. Marriage and parenting are very fulfilling experiences, though not straight forward at all. The sleepless nights, I fully embrace them! The general feedback I receive from my readers is that “there is a lesson to be learnt from every single one of my posts.” So I hope you enjoy!
I am a woman who is passionate about what she does. I do not take anything for granted and always remember where I come from.
